Build Your Sales Funnel From The Bottom Up – Part 2 of 2

Last month we reviewed how you can build your sales funnel from the bottom up – click here to read the article. Since we began at the end, we covered bottom of funnel content and middle of funnel content. Now we’re going to cap off the guide with details on your top of funnel content and funnel traffic sources.

Top of Funnel Content

Your top of funnel content is always going to include two pages – one to receive contact information, and one to thank people for providing that information. Working backwards, we can see that the thank you page should also lead effortlessly into the main sales page from your middle of funnel content. The thank you should be the main message, but you can include a teaser button or enticing blurb that compels them to move forward. Just make sure it’s the only option for proceeding, with the exception of closing the window altogether, of course.

Now we can back up to your first page, where you gather that contact information. This may end up being the most profitable page of your entire funnel! By requesting and obtaining someone’s name and email address, you have a valuable addition to your email contact list. They have given you permission to market to them, which has the potential to generate enormous sales and traffic down the road. Make sure you are offering them something free and desirable. This could be a PDF guide, an e-book, a checklist, or a sample. This will be your lead magnet, and you should make it as appealing as possible.

If you’re using ClickFunnels, you can synch it with Infusionsoft so that email contacts are automatically added to your main list. Infusionsoft will also trigger automatic emails to go out and provide the download link for your lead magnet, thank them for their request, and then lead them into an email drip campaign that maintains engagement with a gradual series of communications.

Funnel Traffic Sources

So now you have a plan for a full funnel! If you haven’t already, you can utilize ClickFunnels to turn your funnel plan into a fully functional, top to bottom sales funnel. This is where your PPC ads, email blasts, website banners, and other marketing efforts come into play.

It’s important to remember your voice throughout this process, from the initial advertising to the last email message. Your ads, for example, should match in “scent” to your funnel and your communications. This includes using your logo, colors, and branding in all, speaking from the same tone and voice, and making sure all images and videos fit seamlessly onto the page. Go through the funnel from top to bottom to make sure it flows well and is convincing at every step. Then do the same for your ads, emails, and lead magnets. Do they all seem like they came from the same company, and relate to the same concept? If so, congratulations! You have an awesome sales funnel that’s good to go.
